To add a new Testing Device in Veriport you must navigate to the Add New POCT page found under the POCT heading at the top of the homepage.
First you will need to select the green “+Add Testing Device” option.
Next, you will be asked for the testing device information; Name of the device (e.g., 7-panel urine), description of the device, and the type of specimen this device is used to collect (e.g., urine, oral fluid, etc.)
To add the Testing Device panels select each drug for which the panel screens. (Each panel is a drug that the device screens for, e.g., cocaine, cannabis, alcohol, etc.)
The next step is to select the cutoff for the drug panel on the device. (The cutoff is the minimum amount of the drug or metabolite being tested for, that is required within the specimen for the device to read as non-negative.) Your device information sheet or packaging should tell you the cutoff for each of the panels on the device.
Now select the until of measurement used. It can be measured as; ng/mL (nanograms per millilitre), mg/dL (milligrams per decilitre), or %BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration).
You may add more than one device testing panel if your device scans for more than one thing by clicking the “Add another” button. So, if your device scans for seven types of drugs/metabolites, you would need to repeat steps 3-5 seven times.
The next step will be to enter the adulterant panel for the device if it has one. An adulterant is anything that is added to a specimen to alter or mask a drug/metabolite within the sample. An adulterant panel checks to see if the specimen has been altered with the specific adulterants on that adulterant panel. The Temperature is also included here as sample temperature is checked to identify substitution. Below shows the different adulterant panel options.
You may add another adulterant panel if needed by clicking the “add another” button.7. Now click the “Save” button, and you have successfully added a new testing device!
