Submitting a New In-Network Service Request (For a Non-lab-based Test)

In-network service requests are fulfilled using the requester’s Point-of-Collection Tests (POCTs), breath alcohol supplies, etc. This article explains how to submit an in-network request for non-lab-based services using your designated supplies.

1. Employer

Select the Employer (your client) from the dropdown list. This links the request to the appropriate organization for documentation, compliance, and billing purposes.

2. Donor

Choose the Donor who will be tested. This list is based on the selected employer and includes all pre-added donor profiles. Add a new donor by clicking the "Add Donor" button.

3. Test

Select the type of test the provider will administer using your equipment or supplies. Examples include:

  • 7-Panel Urine POCT (Requester-supplied)
  • Breath Alcohol Test (Using requester-provided EBT)

The available test types are based on what you’ve enabled for in-network use and supplied to the provider.

4. Testing Device

Indicate the specific device the provider will use. This helps ensure the provider follows the correct procedure and documents the right device in their report. Examples:

  • VeriCheck 7-Panel POCT (already shipped to provider)
  • Alcovisor Mercury EBT (on-site at provider location)

5. Reason for Test

Select the Reason for Test from standard categories:

  • Pre-employment
  • Random
  • Post-accident
  • Reasonable suspicion
  • Return-to-duty
  • Follow-up

Finalizing the Request

  1. Review the request carefully, ensuring that the provider has the necessary device and training to perform the test using your materials.
  2. Click Submit to send the service request to the in-network provider.
  3. The provider will receive it in their In-Network Service Requests Received tab and can approve or respond with a proposed change.

Best Practices

  • Confirm the provider has your testing device on-site or that it has been shipped in advance.
  • Ensure the test method and chain of custody align with your internal policies or regulatory requirements.
  • Use the Comments field to provide any additional handling or documentation instructions.

This workflow supports non-lab-based in-network testing while maintaining your control over equipment, MRO, and compliance procedures.
